ICD Project Portfolio   U2 Joshua Tree Tour Follow Spot Douser Remote Control

In 1987, the U2 Joshua Tree tour was lit with (among many other things) 22 Phoebus Ultra-Arc followspots with remotely controlled color and douser. ICD designed the electronic and mechanical hardware, and microcontroller software to remotely control the douser of these standard, manual operated spotlights. The motion package was designed to mount using the cover access thumbscrews on the light, and connected to the douser handle through a mechanical link and clutch arrangement.
